Using the macro function
What is the macro function?
A macro
function
enables
you
to program
a series
of bullon
opera/ions
(up to 16) on the remote
contmfler
into a single
button.
The series
of opera/ions
are then called
a macro.
For exalnple,
to
play a compact
disc player
connected
to the TX-SR701/701E/601/
601E normally,
you must perform
the following
steps:
1.
Press
the RCVR
MODE
button.
2.
Press
the ON button.
3.
Press
the CD (INPUT
SELECTOR)
button.
4.
Press
the CD MODE
button.
5.
Press
the playback
(_)
button.
By using
the macro
function,
you
can perfornl
the
above
five
opera/ions
by only pressing
one button.

Tips:
If you erase or change
the command
of a button programmed
in
the macro,
that opera/ion
of thai button
will no longer
work in
the macro.
In this case, it will be necessary
for you to reprogram
the macro
in oMer to avoid incorrect
operation.
The codes programmed
into the macro
will be transmitted
a/an
interval
of 0.5 seconds.
However,
some devices
may not be able
to complete
one operation
in 0.5 seconds
and may miss the next
code. In this case, after pressing
one opera/ion
button,
you can
press
the same
MODE
button
again
before
pressing
the next
operation
button
to add another
0.5 seconds
between
the two
operations.
I Programming the macro
With
the
macro
function,
you
can
program
a series
of button
operations
as a macro
into the MACRO
button so the macro can be
executed
with just one touch. Note thai for the macro
function,
only
one macro can be programmed,
l_br example,
to program
the macro
described
above on this page for the MACRO
button,
perform
the
steps given below.
1. Press and hold down any one of the seven MODE
buttons, press the MACRO 1 (or 2) button, and then
release both buttons.
When
you press
the MODE
button,
it lights
and the SEND/
LEARN
indica/or
lights. When you press the MACRO
1 (or 2)
button,
the indica/or
turns off. When you release
the buttons,
the
indicator
flashes
briefly and then lights again.
2,
Press the operation
buttons you wish to program in
order (in this case, press RCVR MODE -_ ON --> CD
(INPUT SELECTOR)
-> CD MODE -> playback (_)
button).
When you press each button,
the SEND/LEARN
indicator
turns
off. When you release
the button,
the indicator
lights.
3. Press the MACRO 1 (or 2) button to complete the
procedure.
The SEND/LEARN
indicator
slowly flashes
twice.
4. Check to see if the macro has been properly
programmed.
No_s:
You may program
up to 16 button
operations
into the macro
function.
If you
try to program
a 17th opera/ion,
it will
be
ignored,
and programming
is stopped.
If the SEND/LEARN
indicator
quickly
flashes
three times
and
turns off, then the remote
controller
has exited the programming
mode
because
either
you
have
made
a
mistake
during
programming
or a time-out
has occurred
because
no button has
been pressed.
Resume
from Step 1.
Executing the macro
Perform
the procedure
below
Io execute
the macro
that
you have
programmed
into
the remote
controller.
After
programming
the
macro,
you should
always
run it at least once to make
sure that it
has been programmed
properly.
Point
the
remote
controller
at the
TX-SR701/701E/601/
601E
and press the MACRO
1 (or 2) button.
It may take a while for the macro to finish transmitting,
so be sure to
continue
pointing
the
remote
controller
at the
device
until
the
SEND/LEARN
indicator
turns off.
