IN THE EVENT OF A POWER FAILURE... This security appliance, if
left connected to the power source, will automatically restart itself once
electrical power has been restored. You do not have to press either the
Power button on the front or the power supply switch on the back of the
appliance.

Connecting to a UPS device

It is recommended that the Firebox Vclass appliance be connected to an
Uninterruptable Power Supply UPS. This device can utilize the built-in
serial connection to notify the appliance when power is lost at the UPS.
Currently, UPS devices from APC are fully supported. Check the
WatchGuard web site for information about the usability of other UPS
devices.
Do not use the cable supplied with the UPS device to connect it to the
Firebox Vclass appliance, as it will not work. The RS-232 cable supplied
in the package should be used to connect the UPS to the DB-9 interface on
the back of every Firebox Vclass appliance.
