Chapter 4: Configure the Network Interfaces
• Select Disabled in the Restrict Access by Hardware Address
drop-down list.
The beacon rate is the interval at which the SOHO 6 Wireless
broadcasts a beacon frame to identify itself to wireless computers.
To configure the beacon rate:
• In the AP Beacon Rate text box, type the beacon rate for the
SOHO 6 Wireless. The beacon rate is measured in milliseconds.
The valid values are 100 through 10000.
• If you want the SOHO 6 Wireless to broadcast the SSID in the
beacon frames, select Enabled from the Broadcast SSID in AP
Beacon Frames drop-down list. Select Disabled if you do not
want to broadcast the SSID.
Wireless computers send out requests to determine whether there
are any wireless access points to which they can connect. To
configure the the SOHO 6 Wireless to respond to these requests:
• Select Enabled from the Respond to SSID Query Requests
drop-down list. Select Disabled if you do not want the SOHO 6
Wireless to respond.

Logging authentication events

An authentication event occurs each time a wireless computer
attempts to connect to the SOHO 6 Wireless. If you want the
SOHO 6 Wireless to log authentication events, select Enabled from
the Log Authentication Events drop-down list. Select Disabled if
you do not want to log authentication events.

Configuring the advanced settings

There are several advanced settings you can use to fine tune your
SOHO 6 Wireless.
