Configuring

Units must be configured before they can be used.
When positioned in a daisy chain, each unit can be addressed individually for configuration using its own
Web App.
The Web App of the REC Unit can be used to configure the complete system and thereby each individual
unit in the system.
For stand-alone configuration units can be powered by means of a Siemens approved 48 VDC AC/DC
power adapter.
Use Simcenter Testlab Neo software, the Simcenter SCADAS RS Recorder App and/or the Simcenter
SCADAS RS Configuration App to configure units.
Full information can be found in the User Manual of the Simcenter Testlab Neo application software.
The App is opened by typing the IP address of a unit in the web browser of the device to which the unit
is connected or through an embedded discovery mechanism.
If a PC is used, the unit can always be found in Windows Explorer, section "Network - Other devices". The
App will start up after double clicking the icon of the unit.

Attention!
The Windows discovery process may take up to 20 s before showing the units as
devices.
A PC, without extra tooling installed, can discover network devices using SSDP
which is part of the UPnP standard. In Windows 10, the SSDP discovery service
might be disabled by default. This can be fixed by opening "Windows Services" and
activating SSDP.
The IP configuration of the PC should be set to "Obtain an IP address
automatically".
