7. Unit features and conditioning options
8-Channel Thermocouple type K Conditioning Unit
The 8-Channel Thermocouple type K Conditioning Units (SC-TCK8-A and SC-TCK8-B) form a part of the
already existing Siemens product portfolio. SC-TCK8 Units are external devices that allow extending the
Simcenter SCADAS RS capability to acquire a high number of K-type thermocouples signals. They form a
useful addition to the Simcenter SCADAS RS system.
An SC-TCK8-A and an SC-TCK8-B Unit can be connected in Main-Secondary configuration. Each unit uses
two CAN messages to send its data.
Power is provided from the CAN connector. Each CAN bus supports a maximum of two TCK8 units, so
four per connector and eight in total (64 channels).
With each order of an SC-TCK8-A and/or SC-TCK8-B, the required cables and terminator plugs are
included *).

The SC-TCK8-A comes with an SC-TCK-ICC cable and a SC-TCK-TER plug.
The SC-TCK8-B comes with an SC-TCK-MS cable. The terminator plug must then move from the SC-TCK8-
A to the SC-TCK8-B.
