CHECKING THE REAR BRAKE DISC

CAUTION
These operations must be performed with the
brake disc installed on the wheel.
•
Carry out a visual check of the brake disc surface. If
scratches or signs of deterioration are visible, change
the disc, see 7.5.3 (REMOVING THE REAR BRAKE
DISC).
•
Check the wear of the brake disc by measuring the
minimum thickness in several points by means of a mi-
crometer.If the minimum thickness, even in one point of
the disc only, is lower than the limit value, change the
disc.
Min. brake disc thickness: 3.6 mm
•
By means of a comparator, make sure that the oscilla-
tion of the disc does not exceed the tollerance limit,
otherwise change it.
Brake disc oscillation limit: 0.3 mm
