OPERATING THE APPLIANCE

Button(s)
Description
The preamplifier is switched on and off using this button at the front panel.
It has no standby option. When switched off the device is internally
separated from the AC power. As a precaution, after switching on, the

volume setting of the preamplifier should be reduced. After switching
on, the device needs up to 30 seconds before it is ready to operate.
Meanwhile, the LED in the speaker's knob (9) will be blinking. During
power-on mode, one of the LED for the input selection will be lighted.
At the front panel: If you turn the dial "INPUT", you select one of the
devices connected to the inputs on the back of the SA-T7MK (11)(13)

(14) for playback. Using the remote control: A short touch on the button
for the desired input channel (e.g. "S1") changes to the playback of
the audio source connected there. The LED associated to the selected

input channel will be illuminated at the front of the appliance. Before
switching over the input channel, the volume (9)(23) should be turned
down as a precaution!
VOLUME (9)
At the front panel: Turn the knob "VOLUME" clockwise to turn up the
volume and counter-clockwise to turn it down. Using the remote control:

Press and hold the button "VOLUME" to raise its value. Use "VOLUME"
to lower the volume level. The volume setting does never influence the

signal at the output "OUTPUT REC" (12).
The MUTE (10)(21) function can be activated on the unit (10) or with
the remote control (21). It switches off the preamplifier outputs (15) and
MUTE
the recording output (12). The LED in the volume knob will be flashing
(10)(21)
during mute mode. Pressing the MUTE button again restorest he volume
to ist original setting.
With the "TREBLE" control dial on the front of the device you affect the
proportion of higher frequencies in the sound. Turning it in clockwise
direction increases the treble intensity and moving it in anticlockwise di-
rection reduces it. In the middle setting the treble proportions of the input

signals remain unchanged. The adjustment of the treble control only has
an effect if the button "TONE" (4) has been pressed. The signal of the
output "OUTPUT REC" (12) is independent of this.
With the "BASS" control dial on the front of the device you affect the pro-
portion of lower frequencies in the sound. Turning it in clockwise direc-
tion increases the bass intensity and moving it in anticlockwise direction

reduces it. In the middle setting the bass proportions of the input signals
remain unchanged. The adjustment of the bass control only has an effect
if the button "TONE" (4) has been pressed. The signal of the output
"OUTPUT REC" (12) is independent of this.
