Using the direct navigator
Erasing parts of a program—
Shorten Segment

The specified parts of the program are erased completely
when you use this procedure and cannot be retrieved. Check
the program carefully to ensure it isn't one you want to keep.
Preparation
Switch [DVD, TV] to "DVD".
Insert a disc you have recorded on.

While stopped
Press [TOP WINDOW].

Use the joystick [ ,
select "DIRECT NAVIGATOR" and
press [ENTER].

Use the joystick [ ,
program which contains the part you
want to erase.

Use the joystick [ ] so the submenu
appears.

Use the joystick [ ,
"Shorten Segment" and press
[ENTER].

Use search functions such as fast-
forward and slow-motion to find the
start point of the part you want to
erase and press [ENTER].
