Select the digital output to be output from the optical or coaxial digital
audio output terminal of the unit.

The initial settings screen is displayed.
Press the cursor buttons [A, _!'] to
select "7 Digital Audio Output" and
press [ENTER].

select the item and press [ENTER].
1 PCM Down Conversion
Select whether to output audio on DVD recorded in 96 kHz
linear PCM as is (No) or to convert it to 48 kHz for output
(Yes).
2 Dolby Digitat
To select the signal format (Bitatream or PCM) to be output
from the optical or coaxial digital audio output terminal dur-
ing play of DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.
3 DTS Digital Surround
To select whether DTS Digital Surround bitstraam is output
from the optical or coaxial digital audio output terminal or
no digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
DTS Digital Surround.
Press the cursor buttons [&, V] to
select the setting and press [ENTER].
When =1 PCM Down Conversion" is selected
1 No (Factory preset)
No digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
96 kHz linear PCM.
eft the DVD is recorded in 48 kHz linear PCM, digital audio
converted to 48 kHz/16 bit is output regardless of the
setting.
eAudio will be output using the original audio recording
system if the DVD has not been copyright-protected.
2 Yeast
During play of DVDs recorded in 48 kHz or 96 kHz linear
PCM, digital audio converted to 48 kHz/t 6 bit is output.
(Digital output of PCM audio is restricted to 48 kHz/16 bit or
below for copyright protection.)
When "2 Dolby Digital" Is selected
1 Bltstreem _2 (Factory preset)
Dolby Digital bitstream (1ch-5.1 ch) is output during play of
DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.
2 PCM
Digital audio converted to 48 kHz/16 bit PCM (2ch) is out-
put during play of DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.
When "3 DTS Digital Surround" is selected
1 Off (Factory preset)
No digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
DTS Digi_l Surround.
2 Bltatream _2
DTS Digital Surround bitstraam (lch-5.1ch) is output dur-
ing play of DVDs recorded in DTS Digital Surround.
The screen illustrated in step 2 is displayed.
To cancel during setup operation
Press [RETURN]. (The previous screen is displayed.)
To exit the initial settings screen
Press [ACTION] or [RETURN]•
