paused (- page 17).
• Each press increases the speed of slew-motion,

Press and hold [HI<I/_I<I, IH_/IHbt] while
paused (- page 17).
• The speed of slow-motion increases if you press and hold the
button.
eThere are five speeds of slow-motion.
To return to normal play
Press [Ib PLAY].
• For Video CDs, slow-motion ptay in reverse direction is not pos-
sible.

• When [,tl<l, _ SLOW/SEARCH] or [I<I<I/<M, IHI_/IHId] on the
main unit is pressed during menu play of Video CDs with playback
control, a menu screen may sometimes be recatled.
Press [<<1, IH_ SLOW/SEARCH] during
play.
• Each press increases the speed of the search.
On the main unit
Press and hold [_1</<<1, I_I_/IHIH] dur-
ing play.
eThe speed of the search increases if you press and hold the button.
• There are five speeds of advance (reverse).
To return to normal play
Press [1_ PLAY].
• You can search forward and backward only within the disc currently
in play.

• When [<1_1, _ SLOW/SEARCH] or [HI<I/<I<I, IH_/IHH ] on the
main unit is pressed during menu play of Video CDs with playback
control, a menu screen may sometimes be recalled.
• For DVDs and Video CDs, audio will be heard during searching (for-
ward direction only) at the initial search speed (To turn audio off,
-, =2 Audio during Search" in "9 Other Settings", page 34).
