Optimizing Media
Settings (Paper Feed
Adjust/Print Head
Alignment)
You should optimize the media settings in the
following situations.
Be sure to do both Paper Feed Adjust and Print Head
Alignment.
When you have registered media settings from
paper information to the printer
When paper information has been added or a custom
paper has been set using the Epson Media Installer,
optimize the media settings to correct individual
differences in your media and printer so that you can
perform optimal printing using your combination of
media and printer.
When you have changed the Advanced setting after
saving media settings.
Precautions When Performing
Print Adjustments
Adjustments are made depending on the paper
loaded in the printer.
❏ Under the actual printing conditions, correctly
load the media that needs to be adjusted in the
printer.
❏ When you add a paper setting value, be sure to
select the name set in Custom Paper Setting from
the printer's menu as the Paper Type.
Make sure nozzles are not clogged before
adjusting.
If nozzles are clogged, adjustments will not be
performed correctly.
Perform Print Head Nozzle Check to check if the
nozzles are clogged, and then perform Head Cleaning
if necessary.

Basic Operations
Use A4 paper or larger.
Load A4 paper or larger to print the adjustment
pattern.

Paper Feed Adjust

This menu is also used when banding (horizontal
banding, tint unevenness, or stripes) is detected in
printing results.

Load paper according to the actual usage
conditions.

Press the position indicated by the box in the
illustration of the home screen, and then press
Print Adjustments - Paper Feed Adjust, in this
order.

Press Start.
The adjustment patterns are printed. Wait until
printing is complete.
D
Check the #1 alignment pattern that was
printed, and look for the least visible pattern
that is square, and confirm that number.
In the following example image, "0" is the best
choice.
E
The screen for entering the results checking the
adjustment pattern is displayed. Press -/+ to
select the number confirmed in step 4, and then
press Alignment #2.
