CAMERA: for camera recording
VTR: for playing back or editing tape
OFF: power off
[2] EDITSEARCH button (p.22, 70)
Press this button to check the recorded scene in
the viewfinder in recording standby mode.
+ side: to view the forward playback picture
- side: to view the reverse playback picture
[3] ND FILTER switch (p.19, 48)
Slide this switch if the ND ON indicator flashes
in the viewfinder. The filter activates to reduce
brightness.
To deactivate the filter, slide it again so that the
indicator disappears.
[4] COUNTER/TIME CODE button (p.26, 68)
Press to display the tape counter or the RC time
code.
[5] COUNTER RESET button (p.26, 71)
Press to reset the tape counter to zero.
[6] FADER button (p.50)
Press this button to fade a picture in when you
start recording, or to fade it out when you finish
recording.
ZERO MEM (memory) button (p.26, 71)
Press to store the counter zero point of the tape
in memory.
Display window (p.92)
Displays operating information such as the clock
or the tape counter.

Press to change the size of the subject in the
scene.
T side: for telephoto (subject appears closer)
W side: for wide-angle (subject appears farther
away)
(Viewfinder lock) RELEASE knob (p.17, 77)
To lift up the viewfinder, slide this knob in the
direction of the arrow.

To detach the viewfinder for cleaning the surface
of screen, slide it in the direction of the arrow.
(12) (Viewfinder) SLIDE button (p.19)
Press to slide the viewlinder if your nose
touches the battery pack.
[13] EJECT (cassette eject) knob (p.15)
Slide to open the cassette compartment.
{14} Battery mounting surface (p.9)
Attach the battery pack to this surface.
(15) DATE(+) and TIME(NEXT) buttons (p.14, 27)
Press to set the clock, to display or to turn off
the date and time in the viewfinder. When
setting the date and time, press DATE(+) button
to advance numbers and press TIME(NEXT)
button to set the next factor.
BATT (battery eject) knob (p.9)
To detach the battery pack, slide it in the
direction of the arrow.
