programs that you can use to help you identify hardware problems.
Diagnosing problems with Lenovo Vantage
Lenovo Vantage is preinstalled on your computer and is ready to run.
Note: If you are unable to isolate and repair the problem yourself after running Lenovo Vantage, save and
print the log files created by the program. You need the log files when you speak to a Lenovo technical
support representative.
Lenovo Vantage supports the hardware scan function. It combines diagnostic tests, system information
collection, security status, and support information, along with hints and tips for optimal system
performance.
The troubleshooting information or the diagnostic programs might tell you that you need additional or
updated device drivers or other software. You can get the latest technical information and download device
drivers and updates from the Lenovo Support Web site at:

potential issues or errors without impacting the performance. When an issue or error is detected, hardware
diagnostic information is presented in either of the following ways:
• If the ThinkStation Diagnostics application is installed and running on your computer, an issue or error
message is displayed in the Windows notification area. Go to ThinkStation Diagnostics for more
information and suggested solutions.
• If the ThinkStation Diagnostics application is not installed or running on your computer, depending on
your computer configuration, do either of the following:
1. If your computer has the four-digit diagnostic display installed, an error code is displayed on the four-
digit diagnostic display on the front of the computer. Check the error code at the following Web site:
https://thinkworkstationsoftware.com/diags
2. If the signal diagnostic LED indicator is available on your computer, the diagnostic LED indicator
blinks to indicate that an issue or error is detected. Then you can use the Lenovo PC Diagnostics
application installed in your smartphone to transfer the error code from the computer to the
smartphone for further analysis. The application is available for download at both Google Play and
iTunes App Store.
The hardware diagnostics function is enabled on your computer by default. If you want to disable the
function, do the following:
