_ Setting up the receiver
One of the following configurat ons should
match your setup:

Surround
back
speaker setting
• Default sett ng: S (VSX_D812), _ (VSX-
D712)
You must let the rece vet know if surround
back speaker(s)
have been connected,
and
how big they are. The size you choose (large or
small) determines
how much bass is sent
flom the receiver to the speakers.
If you have
connected
a surround
back subwoefer
(VSX_
D812), you should
select the surround
back
subweofer
sett ng (SB SW) from the options.
Choose _ (asterisk) if no speaker s
connected.
Use 1} or _ to select SBS, SB _, SB SW
or SB L
* VSX-D8_2 only
• To select SB L you must have SL selected
in the Speakersett/ng.
Subwoofer setting
You can choose whether the subwoofer
is
used or not, Use the plus (PLUS) sett ng for
extra bass.
Use 1} or _ to select subwoofer YES,
PLUSor NO.
r_Note
• If you chose the small front speaker
setting, SW YES is automatically
set and
locked.
• When you select the PLUSsetting, you
wll get the bass sounds from the
subwoofer even if the front speakers are
set to L
Crossover
frequency
setting
• Default sett ng: 100 Hz
Crossover frequency is the point where the
_eceiverdivides the hgh and low sounds (the
frequencies) between the speakers. Since
most smaller speakers can't handle deep
bass tones, you can send these sounds to the
subweofer (or if you don't have a subwoefer,
the large (L) speakers in your system) instead
of the speakers set to small (S) in youl setup.
Choose the point at which you want the
frequency routed to the subwoefer (or L
speakers)
