DRAINING THE FUEL FILTER
WATER TRAP - DIESEL
WARNING: Do not drain the
water-in-fuel separator while the engine
is running. Failure to follow this warning
may result in fire, serious injury, death or
property damage.

Maintenance
Replace the engine air filter at the earliest opportunity.
Indicates an air filter at the end of useful life. After engine
air filter replacement, you must reset the system in order to
change the status. See Resetting the Air Filter Reminder
Indicates that there is a higher-than-expected restriction
across the engine air filter, which could represent an air filter
at the end of useful life or a filter with an obstruction. When
this displays, inspect the engine air filter and replace if
necessary. If you do not replace the air filter, there is no need
for you to reset the air filter minder. The system resets the
minder after you clear the obstruction and drive your vehicle
for about an hour. If you replace the air filter, you need to
reset the minder to change the status. See Resetting the
Air Filter Reminder (page 445).
Indicates that there is an error within the electronic air filter
maintenance minder system requiring service.
When this displays, inspect the engine air filter and replace

Your vehicle has a diesel fuel conditioner
module. The module is mounted between
the outboard side of the fuel tank and the
frame rail.
Note: The module is at the front of the fuel
tank or at the front of the aft-axle fuel tank
