If you don't know what com port(s) were added when using a USB to serial adapter, use
Windows Device Manager
note the list of ports, reinsert the adapter and note the new port.

The default factory set communications
settings for Sentinel is RS-232, 9600-baud, no
parity, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit. Monitor
systems use RS-422, 9600-baud, no parity, 8
data bits and 1 stop bit.
