PII Operator Level Diagnostic Tests
Introduction
Eighteen button diagnostic tests are built into the Producer II products to help you troubleshoot some basic
operations and sensors on your unit. This document contains the button diagnostic tests for Version 3.290
firmware or higher.
The diagnostic tests consist of functional tests and sensor tests.
•
Functional tests check motors, belt tensions, calibrations or adjustments.
•
Sensor tests check each sensor to ensure it recognizes the disc or a condition.
Note: Because the autoloader cannot communicate with the recorders, these tests do not open or close
the recorder during the tests.
Button and LEDs
The Rimage Producer II line of products each has one
button and four LEDs to indicate certain conditions.
LED: Light-emitting diode. A type of diode that emits
light when a current passes through it.

Access and Select Diagnostic Tests
Before you begin: To start diagnostic tests the autoloader must be powered on.
1.
Press and hold the Operator Button. The Carousel Present LED will begin blinking.
2.
When the Carousel Present LED stops blinking, after about 8 seconds, release the Operator Button.
3.
To select a diagnostic test, press the Operator Button the same number of times as the test number, holding
the button in on the last press until the test begins for functional tests or until Carousel Present LED begins
to blink for sensor tests.
Note: The Carousel Present LED turns off when you press the Operator Button.
4.
Continue with the desired diagnostic test.
Important: Many of these diagnostic tests require a disc with a Perfect Print index mark. To obtain this disc,
either run Diagnostic 1 to create a disc with an index mark (Prism Printer only), or call 800-553-8312, option
1, and order Rimage part number 202574-001.
Exiting Diagnostic Tests
Note: To exit a test but remain in diagnostic tests mode, press the Operator Button one time while the test is
running (Diagnostic 3 is an exception).
1.
To exit Diagnostic tests, select Diagnostic 19.
2.
When the Carousel Present LED blinks, release the button. The autoloader is ready for normal use.
