Machine's Condition
The machine instructs you to
wait.
The machine cannot detect the
original size.
The machine instructs you to
check the original direction.
The machine instructs you to
check paper size.
You cannot enter the desired
copy set number.
The machine instructs you to
enter the user code
(8-digit number).

3. Troubleshooting

Problem/Cause
The machine is warming up.
Unsuitable original is set. See
P.11 "Sizes Difficult to Detect".
Original is not set.
There is no copy paper that is
the same direction as the orig-
inals.
Unsuitable original size is set. Select the proper paper size.
The number of copies exceeds
the maximum copy quantity.
Action
Wait for the machine to warm-
up.
Reference
You can use Auto Start
mode during the warm-up
period. See P.35 "Auto
Start".
Set custom size original on the
exposure glass.
Input the both horizontal and
vertical sizes of the non-stand-
ard original. See P.21 "Placing
Originals on the Exposure
Glass".
Select paper manually, not in
Auto Paper Select mode.
Do not use Auto Reduce/En-
large mode.
Set your originals.
Set the original in the same di-
rection as the copy paper.
You can change the maximum
copy quantity that you can
make at a time. See "2.Max.
Copy Q'ty" in P.62 "Copier
Features".
Enter the user codes. See P.35
"User Codes".
