Charging the Battery
WARNING
Charging the battery produces gasses that can
explode.
Never smoke near the battery, and keep sparks and
flames away from battery.
Important: Always keep the battery fully charged. This
is especially important to prevent battery damage when
the temperature is below 0°C (32°F).
1. Charge the battery for 10 to 15 minutes at 25 to 30
amps or 30 minutes at 10 amps.
2. When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger
from the electrical outlet, then disconnect the charger
leads from the battery posts (Figure 47).
3. Install the battery in the machine and connect the
battery cables, refer to Installing the Battery.
Note: Do not run the machine with the battery
disconnected; electrical damage may occur.

Servicing the Fuses
The electrical system is protected by fuses. It requires
no maintenance; however if a fuse blows, check the
component/circuit for a malfunction or short.
Fuses:
•
Main, 30 amp, blade-type
•
Engine, 20 amp, blade-type
1. The fuses are located on right hand console next to
the seat (Figure 48).
2. To replace the fuses, pull out the fuse to remove it.
3. Red (+) charger lead
4. Black (-) charger lead
3. Install a new fuse having the same amperage as the fuse
that you removed (Figure 48).
