Solving General System Problems

Problem
Parts of the system are not working
Keyboard is not working
Corrective Action
Make sure that all cables are correctly
installed and secure.
Make sure that all power cables are plugged
into a power source (cart power strip, wall
outlet, or uninterruptible power supply).
Make sure that the cart power strip or
uninterruptible power supply is turned on.
Enable Readiness Monitoring in AdminTools.
Address any warnings generated.
Make sure that the keyboard and remote
control are not being used at the same time.
You can't use both infrared devices
simultaneously.
Make sure that keys on the keyboard are not
being accidentally held down.
Make sure that the infrared path to the
infrared receiver is not blocked.
Make sure that the infrared receiver is
plugged in correctly. Make sure that the LED
indicator on the front of the receiver is on
when the system is on.
Make sure that the camera can detect the
infrared signal. Get close to the camera, then
point the keyboard at the camera. Watch the
local video and see if flashing is visible from
the keyboard.
Make sure that the keyboard contains fresh
batteries. Check the keyboard batteries at
least every two months.
