Chuck clamp/unclamp check

There are 2 kinds of methods to check whether workpiece is clamped completely or not.
- If time elapsed after commanding, judge it as chucking is completed.
- Grasping the position of chuck cylinder using proximity sensor, judge it as chucking is
completed (option).
The detecting method of chuck status can be modified according to the setting value of
machine data as follows.

Checking whether chucking is done or not is used as the start condition of spindle and
automatic operation or finishing condition of chuck operation M-code. Therefore, appropriate
adjusting is needed in case of changing of machining workpiece.
According to the type of machine, the method to check the status of chuck by means of
detecting directly the operation distance of chuck cylinder using special magnetic sensors, is
used as option.
(1) Method to check chucking by the time elapse after command
The method to judge operation as completed without additional checking after
commanding chuck clamp or unclamp.
However, in case of commanding chuck clamp/unclamp in M-code, commanded M-
code will be finished after the time set in machine data elapsed, and the next automatic
command can be executed.
- MD 14510[3], MD 14510[4] (setting unit : 100msec) : main chuck
If a special adjusting isn't needed at shipping, it will be set by 30 (3sec).Considering the
size of workpiece, chuck jaw etc., the time from the start of actual clamp/unclamp
operation to the finish of operation will be set. But if the time is set to the value less than
the time of actual operation, it is very dangerous because the machine will start to
operate before the chucking operation is not finished yet. Therefore, in case that the
setting time needs to be modified, be sure to set the time after checking actual
operation time.

Set to "1"
Detect the status of main chuck using proximity sensor.
