SEAT AND BACK
This Procedure Includes the Following:

Replacing the Seat Upholstery

Adjusting the Back Height

Adjusting Angle Back - Standard/Light Weight
Adjustable Angle Back Models Only
Adjusting Seat Width
WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service
and BEFORE use, make sure all attach-
ing hardware is tightened securely - oth-
erwise injury or damage may result.
NOTE: The procedures in this section apply to NON-
RECLINER models only. For RECLINER model, re-
fer to PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.
NOTE: Refer to PROCEDURE 1 - GENERAL
GUIDELINES which include GENERAL WARNINGS.
REPLACING THE SEAT
UPHOLSTERY (FIGURE 1)
1. Remove the mounting screws that secure the exist-
ing seat upholstery to the wheelchair frame.
NOTE: The chart below determines the number of
mounting screws for each seat depth.
2. Remove the EXISTING seat upholstery from the
wheelchair frame.
3. Install NEW seat upholstery by reversing STEPS 1-2.

Wrap Around Back Upholstery (FIGURE 2)
1. Remove the two (2) mounting screws and washers that
secure the existing back upholstery to the back canes.
2. Remove the two (2) mounting screws and locknuts
that secure one (1) back cane to the wheelchair frame.

NOTE: It is necessary to remove only one (1) back cane
to replace the back upholstery.
3. Pull the loose back cane out of the existing back up-
holstery.
4. Pull the existing back upholstery up and over the
mounted back cane.
5. Install the NEW back upholstery over the mounted
back cane.
6. Slide the loose back cane through the NEW back
upholstery.
7. Secure the back cane to the wheelchair frame with
the two (2) allen screws and locknuts.
8. Secure the NEW back upholstery to the back canes
with the existing mounting screws and washers.

shown for clarity.

ADJUSTING THE BACK HEIGHT

NOTE: back canes must be adjusted to the same height.
1. Remove the two (2) mounting screws and locknuts that
secure the two (2) back canes to the wheelchair frame.
2. Reposition the back canes to one (1) of two (2) height
adjustment positions:

HOLE # 1 & 2 2 & 3
HEIGHT 14
Holes numbered from bottom to top for reference only.
(There are no numbers on the back canes or wheelchair
frame.)
3. Reinstall the two (2) allen screws and locknuts that
secure the back canes to the wheelchair frame and
securely tighten.
