I. Service Mode Functions & Access
There are two service modes. Lamp time and reset are available in the basic service
mode. Patterns and adjustments are accessed from the extended service mode. Enter
the basic service mode to get to the extended service mode. Exit either service mode
by shutting off the TV.

Entry to Basic Service Mode:

1. Turn on the TV
2. Hold in the VOLUME-DOWN button on the front panel and simultaneously hold
down the RECALL button on the remote control. A red "CHK" appears on the
screen's left corner. See figure 44. If a color screen appears, press RECALL
repeatedly until "CHK" reappears.

Notice – The AC relay on and off cycles are the same unless the plug is pulled out from
the wall or there is a power failure. Both the lamp and the TV time are in hex numbers.
The TV time is counted in hex hours and the lamp time is counted every 16mins (in
hex). See hex number conversion in this book to translate into decimal time.
