Shutdown - Power LED Blinks 2X
Refer to figure 32. If the power LED blinks 2X and repeats, the problem is caused by
excessive voltage from one of the 3 regulators in the power supply. The 12V, 9V, and
3.3Vdc lines from the power supply are monitored by zener diodes D852, D856, and
D854 respectively. If one of these regulators becomes leaky (input – output), the high
er
output voltage will break over the corrresponding zener. When the zener conducts, the
increase in voltage from 0V to t
he trip voltage of 1.2Vdc (at DG2/pin 3), causes the
m
icroprocessor to shutdown the TV.
Locate the defective regulator by measuring each of these output voltages, at po
wer-on.
The voltage that is abnormal will be greater than the normal regulator voltage.
