C.1 Upgrading an 8 x 2.5" Front Drive Configuration to a 16 x 2.5" Front Drive
Configuration
The front drive bay of the server system is divided into three 8-drive bays; Bay 1 (left), Bay 2 (center), and Bay
3 (right). To support necessary airflow within the system, a 16-drive configuration must have 8-drive sets
configured to bays 1 and 3.
When upgrading an 8-drive system to a 16-drive system, the 8 original drive locations in Bay 2 must be
reconfigured to either Bay 1 or Bay 3, as shown in the following figures.
