9 Cleaning and maintenance

NOTICE! Damage hazard
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these may damage the de-
vice.
• Do not use cleaning agents that contain ammonia or alcohol.
• Never spray or pour liquid directly onto the display or casing.

Clean the touchscreen of the display with a clean and dry microfiber cloth in small circular motions. Slightly
moisten the microfiber cloth if necessary.
2. Occasionally clean the casing of the battery monitor with a damp cloth.

10 Troubleshooting

Problem
The battery monitor does not work.
No values are measured.
The battery monitor does not work.
No screen is displayed.
The manual mode has automatically
switched to the automatic mode.
A warning appears.

Possible cause
The polarity of the battery is incorrect.
The battery voltage is too low.
The power cable is defective or not
connected correctly.
The starting batteries are discharged.
The battery monitor is not connected
correctly.
The power cable is defective or not
connected correctly.
The battery monitor is switched off.
The voltage of one or both house bat-
teries is below 10.5 V.
The voltage of one or both house
batteries is below 11 V for more than
15 min.
The temperature of one or both house
batteries exceeds 60 °C.
The voltage of one or both house bat-
teries is too low.
Suggested remedy
Connect the device properly.
Recharge the battery.
Check the power cable for insu-
lation faults, breaks or loose con-
nections.
If necessary, replace the power
cable.
Charge the starting battery.
Connect the battery monitor cor-
rectly.
Check the power cable for insu-
lation faults, breaks or loose con-
nections.
If necessary, replace the power
cable.
Switch the battery monitor on
(see
Switching the battery moni
tor on/off
on page 23).
Charge the batteries.
Allow the heated batteries to
cool down.
Charge the batteries.
Disconnect the devices connect-
ed to the discharged house bat-
tery or batteries.
