2.2 General G uidelines

In order to ensure the safe installation, a ssembly and operation of t he
concentrator these instructions M UST be followed.

Improper use of t he product m ay cause death, i njury or
damage. This section contains important i nformation for
the safe operation and use of t his p roduct.
– DO NOT use this p roduct o r a ny available optional
equipment w ithout f irst c ompletely r eading a nd
understanding these instructions a nd any additional
instructional m aterial s uch as u ser m anuals, s ervice
manuals o r i nstruction sheets s upplied with this
product o r o ptional e quipment.
– If y ou are unable to understand the warnings, c autions
or i nstructions, contact a healthcare professional,
dealer o r t echnical p ersonnel b efore attempting to
use this e quipment.
– Check ALL external components a nd carton for
damage. In case of d amage, o r i f t he product i s n ot
working correctly, c ontact a technician or I nvacare
for r epair.

Textiles, oil o r p etroleum substances, grease, greasy
substances a nd other c ombustibles a re easily ignited
and burn with great i ntensity in oxygen enriched air and
when in contact w ith oxygen under pressure. To avoid
fire, d eath, i njury or d amage:
– DO NOT SMOKE while using this d evice.
– DO NOT use near O PEN FLAME or I GNITION
SOURCES.
– DO NOT use any lubricants o n concentrator unless
recommended by Invacare.
– NO SMOKING signs should be prominently displayed.
– Avoid creation of a ny spark near oxygen equipment.
This i ncludes s parks f rom static electricity created by
any type of f riction.
– Keep all matches, lighted cigarettes, electronic
cigarettes o r o ther s ources o f i gnition out o f t he
room in which this c oncentrator is l ocated and away
from where oxygen is b eing delivered.
– Keep the oxygen tubing, c ord, a nd concentrator out
from under s uch items a s b lankets, bed coverings,
chair cushions, c lothing, a nd away from heated or hot
surfaces i ncluding space heaters, s toves, a nd similar
electrical a ppliances.
