2.3 Radio Frequency Interference

To reduce the risk of i njury or p roduct d amage from
interference with wireless e quipment:
– Keep concentrator a t l east 9 .8 ft ( 3.0 m) a way from
wireless c ommunication equipment s uch as w ireless
home network devices, mobile phones, cordless
phones a nd base stations, w alkie-talkies, e tc.
This equipment h as been tested and found to comply with EMC limits
specified by IEC/EN 60601-1-2. These limits are designed to provide
a reasonable protection against e lectromagnetic interference in a
typical m edical i nstallation.
Other devices may experience interference from even the low levels
of e lectromagnetic emissions p ermitted by the above standards.
To determine if t he emissions f rom the concentrator a re causing
the interference, turn the concentrator O ff. If t he interference
with the other device(s) s tops, t hen the concentrator is c ausing the
interference. In such rare cases, i nterference may be reduced or
corrected by one of t he following measures:
•
Reposition, r elocate, o r i ncrease the separation between the
equipment.
•
Connect t he equipment i nto an outlet o n a circuit d ifferent f rom
that t o which the other device(s) i s c onnected.
