6 Usage

6.1 Introduction

Your o xygen concentrator i s i ntended for i ndividual u se indoors.
It i s a n electronically operated device that s eparates o xygen from
room air. It p rovides h igh concentration of o xygen directly to you
through a nasal cannula. Clinical studies h ave documented that
oxygen concentrators are therapeutically equivalent t o other types of
oxygen delivery systems.
Your supplier will s how you how to use your oxygen concentrator.
He/She should be contacted with any q uestions o r p roblems
regarding your oxygen concentrator. This u ser manual w ill t ell y ou
about y our c oncentrator a nd will s erve as a reference as y ou use
your c oncentrator.

6.2 Select a Location

To avoid injury during therapy:
– The oxygen concentrator MUST be placed on a level
surface for u se.
– DO NOT relocate the oxygen concentrator while in
use.

To avoid injury or d amage from airborne pollutants
and/or fumes a nd for optimal p erformance:
– Locate and position the concentrator i n a w ell
ventilated space so that t he air i ntake and the air
exhausts a re not o bstructed.
– NEVER block the air o penings o f t he concentrator
or place it o n a soft s urface, s uch as a bed or couch,
where the air opening may be blocked.
– Keep the openings f ree from lint, hair a nd similar
foreign items.
– Keep concentrator at l east 1 2 in (30.5 cm) a way from
walls, d raperies a nd furniture.
– Avoid use in presence of p ollutants, s moke or fumes,
flammable anesthetics, cleaning agents o r c hemical
vapors.
– Place concentrator i n a well v entilated area to avoid
airborne pollutants a nd/or f umes.
– DO NOT use in a closet.
You may select a room in your h ouse where using your o xygen
concentrator would be most c onvenient. Your concentrator can be
easily rolled from room to room on its c asters.
Your oxygen concentrator will p erform best w hen operated under
the conditions o utlined in Specifications.
Usage in environments o ther than those described may result i n the
need for i ncreased equipment m aintenance. The air i ntake of t he
unit s hould be located in a well v entilated area to avoid airborne
pollutants a nd/or f umes.
