This chapter describes how to begin the Voice Services installation process. The
first steps of the installation process apply to all Voice Services software
components.
Before starting the installation process, do the following:

Installing the Hardware Key

Note: The use of hardware keys applies only to Voice Services software, and
not to the Control Center application.
The hardware key (also known as a dongle) is the device that connects to the
parallel port of the personal computer on which you install and run Voice Services
software. Plug the hardware key into the parallel port of the computer before
starting the installation program.
The hardware key must be connected to the port while installing and using Voice
Services software. If it is not connected during installation, an error message is
displayed. If the hardware key is not connected when using the server software, it
does not work. The hardware key is periodically checked while the software is
running, so if it is detached from the port, the server does not operate.
