This chapter describes how to install the Event Manager (EMS).

Before You Install
Some information and services are required to install the Event Manager. Make
sure you have the following before starting the installation process:

Make sure the system on which you plan to install the software is set up and
configured with the Event Manager (EMS) items listed in
Requirements.
Make sure the information and server requirements described in
Install
are available and operating correctly.
Complete the steps in
The installation program uses the default system administrator user ID (
access the SQL Server database that is used by the EMS. Confirm with your
SQL database administrator that the SQL Server uses the
get and have available the correct user ID and password before starting the
installation process. You must enter the correct user ID and password so the
installation program can access the SQL Server.
Make sure the SQL Server is running and accessible to the Event Manager
(EMS) during the installation process. The EMS installation scripts must be
run in the SQL Server to create the required tables and store procedures.
