About This Manual

his document describes the procedures to install Remote Access
Concentrator (RAC) software on a UNIX host system. You should install
this software before installing the RAC hardware.
The RAC software includes:
Remote Access Concentrator software for UNIX.
The na command-line interface Version 3.1.
Annex Manager 3.1 for UNIX.
This book provides UNIX installation procedures for Remote
Annexes and Remote Access Concentrators.
In addition to the Table of Contents, Preface, and Index, this manual
contains the following chapters:
Chapter 1, Before You Begin, describes Remote Access
Concentrator (RAC) software for UNIX, and software
components, system requirements, and the installation script.
Chapter 2, Installing the Software, describes the installation
procedure for loading RAC software on a UNIX system,
including information for mounting the CD-ROM, installing
operational images and binary files, and assigning a security
regime.
Chapter 3, Setting Environment Services, describes minor
adjustments you make after the installation, including setting
environment variables, starting erpcd, and starting Annex
Manager.
Appendix A, Reference Information, has many tables with
information on system requirements, supported operating
systems, binary and source code options, and upgrading the
software.
