TROUBLESHOOTING THE 8410 INTERFACE
40
GHz CONTROL SIGNALS
This
troubleshooting procedure provides information
on exercising the
four HP
8340
data control
lines
needed
by an
S-parameter test
set to extend the operating frequency range.
A
controller
is
used to exercise each of the four data control
lines.
If
any of
the
data control lines
fail
to
perform
as Indicated
In
the procedure, troubleshoot the A57
marker/bandcross
or the
A60 processor
assemblies.
The test equipment needed
is
an oscilloscope and
a
200
series controller.

Procedure
1.
Connect
the
equipment
as
shown
in
Figure G-19a. Turn the equipment on.
2.
On the synthesized
sweeper, press [INSTR PRESET].
3.
Connect the oscilloscope probe to
pin
11
of the 8410
INTERFACE
connector. Observe the trace on
the oscilloscope
CRT.
This trace
is
the reference
line.
4.
On the controller, enter the following commands:
OUTPUT

0,1, 0"
OUTPUT

The
HP-IB address of the synthesized sweeper
is
assumed
