Troubleshooting

Issue: Tracer BAS controller cannot connect to the Digi Router
The Digi router default configuration is an IP address on the 192.168.2.0/24 subnet – this is the default
subnet of port 2 on the Tracer BAS controller. If the IP address of the Tracer BAS controller has been
changed to a new subnet, the Digi router cannot communicate with the Tracer BAS controller. To solve
this issue, do one of the following:
Issue: Customer is unable to connect remotely using Trane Connect
Verify that the Digi Remote Manager is communicating with the Digi router by doing the following:
1. Navigate to the Digi Remote Manager Log in page —

3. Click on the device name to highlight, and then select properties.

Change the IP address/subnet on the Tracer BAS controller to match the default subnet on the Digi
router (192.168.2.0/24).
OR change the IP address/subnet on the Digi router to match the configuration of the Tracer BAS
controller.
Note: This can only be done by INS.

Select the Device Management tab, and then navigate to the Digi router that you are experiencing
problems with.
If the device is down, proceed to the Checking Cellular Signal section below.
If you are able to connect to the Digi router, navigate to Management > Network Status >
Interfaces > Mobile from the left navigation menu. From there you can determine the cellular
signal strength (see the following figure).
