Installing the Cellular Router

Installation procedures will vary depending on the cellular signal strength at the BAS location.
Strong Cellular Signal Strength (max. bars or ≥ −75 dB)
When the cellular signal strength is strong at the BAS location, install the Digi cellular router inside the
Trane enclosure, using the Internal Mount Kit (Part# IX10-TRANEKIT-INTERNAL-DATA).
1. Prepare the enclosure for antenna mounting by opening a 3/4 in. knockout.
2. Attach the provided DIN rail clip to the Digi cellular router. (Trane technician to provide DIN rail, if

4. Attach provided coax cables directly onto the Digi cellular router.
5. Mount the provided antennas onto the outside of the enclosure, then attach the coax cables.
6. Connect the Digi cellular router to Ethernet Port 2 on the Tracer BAS controller using an Ethernet
7. Connect power to Digi cellular router:
Moderate or Poor Cellular Signal Strength (less than max. bars or ≥ −91
dB)
When the cellular signal strength is moderate or poor at the BAS location, install the Digi cellular router
in a remote location from the BAS using the Remote Mount Kit (Part# IX10-TRANEKIT-REMOTE-
DATA).
1. Mount the remote enclosure on a wall near the electrical receptacle.
2. Connect the Digi cellular router to Ethernet Port 2 on the Tracer BAS controller using an Ethernet
