Connections

*Before using the unit, you have to connect the unit to a TV and/or a m plifier.

Before making any connections

• Do not connect the AC power cord until all other connections have been made.
• Connect VIDE O O U T of the unit directly to the video input of your TV. Connecting VIDE O O U T of the unit to a TV via a
VCR m ay cause a m onitor proble m w hen playing back a copy-protected disc. You m ay also have a m onitor proble m
w hen connecting the unit to an integrated TV/Video syste m.
NOTES
• In the following description, "TV" may be substituted with "monitor" or "projector."
• Terminal names used for other components may be different from those used in the following description.

To connect to a TV

Connection to a conventional TV
You can enjoy playback by sim ply connecting the unit to a TV.
Connect the unit to a TV equipped with stereo audio input and video input jacks using the supplied A udio/Video cables.

Connection to a TV equipped with an S-video jack
If your TV has an S-VIDE O input, you can get better picture quality by connecting it with the S-VIDE O output of the unit
using an supplied S-video cable instead of connecting the video input of the TV to the VIDE O jack of the unit.

• Make sure that the color system of a DVD VIDEO/video CD/SVCD disc labeled on the package matches your TV.
