Special picture playback
and picture/sound effect
You can view continuous still images, or zoom in or out of
the picture. You can also adjust the picture characteristics, as
well as simulate surround sound using a stereo system.
To display continuous still pictures

¶ During playback

At the point where you want to begin viewing
continuous still images, press 8.
The unit pauses playback.

Press and hold 8 for more than 1 second.
Nine copies of the sa m e fra m e (still im ages) will
appear on the TV screen.
You can advance these fra m es using the follo wing
step.

Press 8 once.
The im age in the middle of the top ro w sho ws the
next fra m e of video after the one on the upper left.
A dvanced fra m e
Each press of 8 advances the video by one fra m e.
Pressing 3 instead of 8 advances each fra m e at
norm al playback speed with a tim e delay over the
w hole nine pictures (w hile the sound is m uted).
• To return to the normal screen
Press and hold 8 for m ore than 1 second.
NOTE
• If you press and hold 8 for more than 1 second during
playback, nine still pictures also appear but they
advance at normal playback speed (while the sound is
muted).

¶ During playback or w hile paused

Press ZOOM + or –.
Pressing Z O O M + causes the unit to zoo m in on the
im age, and pressing Z O O M – causes the unit to
zoo m out.
Each tim e you press Z O O M +, the m agnification is
doubled (up to × 1024).
Each tim e you press Z O O M –, the m agnification is
halved (do w n to × 1/8).
ZOOM x 4
At the top left of the screen, the inform ation for the
current m agnification appears for 5 seconds. W hile
zoo m ed in, an indication of the zoo m ed im age
position also is displayed. The next step can be
used to m ove the im age position.

Use 5/∞/2/3 to move the zoomed position.
If no button pressed for 5 seconds, the inform ation
for the current m agnification disappears.
To display the inform ation, press Z O O M +/– or 5/∞/
2/3 again.
