4.9 Cloud configuration
User data editor
You use the "User data format" button to open the user data editor.
● Template for user data format
The "JSON PubSub" format is displayed in the "User data format" text box as default
setting.
You can select one of the syntax templates described above from the drop-down list.
● User data format
In the text box, you can change the user data format to be used or create the format
according to your own requirements.
When a syntax template is selected (see above), the syntax of the template selected
above is displayed and used.
● Use this user data format for all topics
When the option is enabled, the user data format displayed in the text box is applied for
all groups or topics to be published (Publisher).
After saving, the checkmark for the option is removed from the topic editor.
Please note:
If changes are made later, the changes are only applied to the relevant topic or group and
not to all topics or groups when you press "Apply".
● Escape sequences
Escape sequences which adapt the code according to the protocol used can be used to
convert certain special characters.
Special characters can occur within the following name components, for example:
– Station name
– Topic name
– Group name
The following escape sequences are available to the application for selection:
– JSON
– XML
– CSV
When an option is selected, the respective special characters are converted into escape
sequences at the publisher.
At the subscriber, the escape sequences are converted in the reverse direction.
For information on the escape sequences used with the JSON format, see appendix
JSON escape sequences (Page 139).
