Starting the unit

When starting the unit, observe the precautions described from Page 4 in the section "For safe use of your product"
to ensure that you operate the product correctly.
Failure to observe the precautions could cause an accident or injury, or even lead to a fatality.

Operation

1.
Fill the chain oil tank with lubricant.
2.
Remove guide bar cover.
3.
Make sure guide bar and saw chain are not touching any-
thing when starting the chain saw.
4.
Push power button once to turn on power to unit.
NOTE
Power indicator LED illuminates when power to unit is
turned on.
5.
Hold the chain saw by both handles.
6.
Push trigger switch lockout and depress trigger switch to in-
crease saw chain speed. If you depress trigger switch with
chain brake activated, power is turned off.
IMPORTANT
When power to the unit is turned on:
After one minute of inactivity, unit will power itself off.
If the LED remains lit, operation is normal.
If the LED flashes once per second, the battery needs to be
charged.
If the LED flashes four times per second, chain brake is ac-
tivating. Pull front hand guard towards the operator immedi-
ately. (Chain brake RELEASED position)
When the LED flashes four times per second even if the
chain brake is released, there is a fault within the product.
Turn power off to unit. Remove battery. Ask your dealer for
repair.

Release trigger switch and trigger switch lockout, and allow
saw chain to stop.
2.
Push power button to turn off power to unit.
NOTE
Power indicator LED turns off when power to unit is turned
off.
∗ When the trigger switch is released, the saw chain automati-
cally stops. The stop time varies depending on usage condi-
tions.
∗ If the power button does not stop the chain saw, remove the
battery to stop the power supply to chain saw. Have your au-
thorized ECHO servicing dealer repair power button before us-
ing chain saw again.
∗ If the saw chain does not stop when the trigger switch and trig-
ger switch lockout are released, remove the battery to stop the
power supply to chain saw. Have your authorized ECHO ser-
vicing dealer repair unit before using again.
