7. Lift the left edge of the palm rest a little in the direction shown by arrow
1 , and then lift the palm rest from the computer in the direction shown
by arrow 2 .

Note: When you lift the left and front edges of the palm rest, it is normal
to hear a click.
If your computer is one of the ThinkPad R60 models, while lifting the
palm rest from the computer 3 , detach the touch pad cable 4 .
