Introduction This Installation Operation Manual (IOM) the rental air handling units (AHU) available to rent from Trane Rental Services for temporary cooling solutions. This includes AHU technical information, start-up information, and unit maintenance. The information contained in this document is provided to ensure the safe installation and operation of the equipment and its surroundings.
General Information Our rental air handling units are custom Trane air handlers use with 100% outside air, but include return plenums and that have been modified for use as rental units. The dampers to allow for 100% return air as well.

Duct Connection Configuration RSAU0025F0 Figure 28. Handle to control linked dampers Each unit has two 19 in diameter discharge air connections. Both discharge air connections have a manual damper to control air flow. The connections were made to accept one 20 in diameter flexible duct. These units have a louver panel for 100% outside air operation.
Duct Connection Configuration RSAU0025F2 Each unit has two 19 in diameter discharge air connections and four 19 in diameter return air connections. All of the discharge air connections and all the return air connections have manual dampers to control air flow. The connections were made to accept one 20 in diameter flexible duct.
Rental AHU's with the F1 & F2 designator come equipped unit-mounted stand alone display. The stand alone display with either a single or dual Trane TR2 VFD(s) (Figure is mounted in a sealed cabinet on the front of the unit next mounted in a control cabinet inside the unit.

Typical Status Screen The operator display includes a 7-day time clock that allows for time-of-day scheduling with two on/off times per day and up to 20 exception schedules per year. Both the 10,000 cfm and 25,000 cfm units can be configured to run based on a specified air flow (constant volume CV) or be controlled by space temperature (VAV) using the Rover service tool or the stand alone display.
