5. Remove the oil filler cap, wipe the dip-
stick clean, insert it back into the oil filler
hole (without screwing it in), and then re-
move it again to check the oil level.

TIP
The engine oil should be between the "H" and
"L" level marks on the dipstick.

6. If the engine oil is below the "L" level
mark, add sufficient oil of the recom-
mended type to raise it to the "H" level
mark. (See page 110 for the recom-
mended oil.) NOTICE: When adding the
engine oil, be careful not to fill above
the "H" level mark on the dipstick. Use
only the recommended oil. (See page
110.) Make sure that no foreign mate-
rial enters the engine oil tank.
7. Check the O-ring for damage, and re-
place it if necessary.
8. Insert the dipstick into the oil filler hole,
and then tighten the oil filler cap.
9. Connect the oil level gauge coupler.
10. Install the right side cover and the
shroud, or close the shroud.
