Before Starting
Read this section before replacing any components.
This chapter explains how to install hardware accessories for your PC.
If you want to install accessories, refer to HP's web site at
www.hp.com/go/pcaccessories
chapter also explains how to replace defective hardware.
If you need further information about upgrading your PC and installing
accessories, refer to the Troubleshooting and Upgrade Guide,
available on HP's web site
For your safety, never remove the PC's cover without first removing
the power cord from the power outlet and any connection to a
telecommunications network. If a power protection device is fitted to
your PC, you must remove the power cord then wait for a few minutes
before removing the cover. Remove the power protection device
cables before any servicing operation. Always replace the cover before
switching the PC on again.
Static electricity can damage electronic components.
Turn all equipment OFF. Don't let your clothes touch the accessory.
To equalize the static electricity, rest the accessory bag on top of the PC
while you are removing the accessory from the bag. Handle the
accessory as little as possible and with care.
