Docking System Features

The OmniBook 800 Docking System provides simple and convenient connectivity
to your desktop peripherals. It lets you make a single-action connection to
networks, monitors, keyboards, mice and other peripherals present at your desktop.
With the Optional monitor stand, this docking system allows the OmniBook 800 to
be a complete desktop system replacement with all the standard ports including
sound and SCSI-2, plus one expansion slot that can hold an ISA or PCI card. The
docking system has these features:
Replicated ports
VGA-out (up to 1024 x 768 x 256 colors).
Parallel port: 25-pin bi-directional EPP and ECP.
Serial port: 9-pin, 115,000-bps RS-232.
PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors (separate).
AC adapter.
External floppy.
SCSI-2.
Stereo-in, stereo-out, microphone-in.
Docking
Supports hot-docking Plug and Play under Windows 95.
Expansion slots
One industry-standard, half-length slot for use with one 16-bit ISA or one 32-bit
PCI card.
Convenience
Full access to notebook's PC card slots while docked.
No additional software required for the docking system.
Indicators--Power adapter attached, unit docked.
Controls:
Security
Robust, reliable mechanical locking mechanism.
Kensington lock slot (Manual undock lock override when Kensington lock is not
attached).
Optional user-defined password to prevent unauthorized removal of OmniBook
from dock.
Power
AC adapter port provides power to the docking system.
Powered by HP OmniBook 800 ac adapter (F1044B) or optional Docking System
adapter (F1140A).
Passes power through to HP OmniBook for operation and simultaneous internal
battery charging.
Power: Suspends OmniBook, turns on OmniBook, turn off OmniBook by
pressing Ctrl+Alt+Power button.
Undock: initiates undock process.
Undock levers to mechanically disengage OmniBook from dock.
