Quick installation guide

Connection to a television
Initial setup
Remote Control & Setup Menu
When you turn on the unit for the first time, press [SETUP] and
follow these steps to set up the unit.
1. Press [
POWER ] to turn on the DVD Recorder.
2. Press [SETUP] to display the Setup menu on your TV
screen.
3. Press [ ] [ ] to select "System", "Language","Playback",
"Record", "Audio", "TV Tuner" on the Setup menu.
4. Press [ ] or [ENTER] and [ ] [ ] to select the item you
want to change.
About Playback:
Language: Language------>OSD
Aspect Ratio: Playback---->TV Aspect (see page 25)
Video out: System------>Video Output (see page 25)
Audio out: Audio--------> Digital Out (see page 26)
About Record:
System Time:
System--->Date / Time (see page 25)
Record Quality: Record--->Quality (see page 26)
Chapter Mark:
Record---->Chapter Mark (see page 26)
TV Signal:
TV Tuner-->TV Signal (see page 26)
5. Press [SETUP] to end the settings.
Video will not be displayed if the selected video
output on the player is different from the video output
connection.

Sytem settings
System Language
Select system operating language:
"ENGLISH" or "SPANISH"
Aspect Ratio
Select "4:3 L. Box", "4:3 Pan" or "16:9 Wide" to suit your TV.
Video Output
There are 3 types of video outputs available on this unit,
including "S-Video", "Component", or "Progressive".
Connect the correct video cable from the unit to your TV and
select the correct video output by pressing [SETUP] and
selecting System --> Video Output.
Audio Output
This unit is capable of both analog and digital audio output.
For analog audio, connect RCA cables to the LR audio jacks on
the back of the unit.
For superior digital audio, connect a digital coaxial or optical
cable from the back of the unit to an amplifier or receiver with a
Dolby Digital and/or DTS decoder.
Record settings
Record Quality
Sets the default recording mode, depending on the quality you
want to record "HQ, SP, EP, SLP". (see page 26)
Chapter Mark
You can automatically divide titles (programs) into chapters by
inserting chapter marks at 2~15 minutes intervals during
recording.
