For better sound

There are two types of enhanced audio connections: Analog and Digital.
Connecting to a stereo audio amplifier or receiver
Use the supplied audio cable to connect the AUDIO OUT on the
player to the audio input on the stereo amplifier or receiver.
Connecting to a digital audio device
Connect an amplifier with Dolby Digital and/or DTS decoder to enjoy surround sound.

Digital out optical

Use a fiber-optic cable (not included) to
connect the DIGITAL OUT OPTICAL on the
player to the digital optical input on your AV
amplifier or receiver. (see page 26 to activate
the digital audio output)

Digital out coaxial

Use a coaxial cable (not included) to connect the
DIGITAL OUT COAXIAL on the player to the coaxial
digital input on your AV amplifier or receiver.
