The size, thickness and type of the paper you are using are not within the specifications of the machine.

The toner cartridge may not be installed properly.
• Make sure the toner cartridge is installed properly. (→ p. 5−4)
The toner in the toner cartridge may be low.
• Replace it with a new one. (→ p. 5-4)
The copy exposure may not be adjusted correctly.
• Adjust exposure correctly. (→ p. 4-5)
z z z z Copies are dirty.
The platen glass or rear side of the ADF/platen glass cover may be dirty.
• Clean the platen glass or rear side of the ADF/platen glass cover. (→ p. 5-1, 5-2)
The rollers inside the machine are dirty.

There may be a scratch on the drum unit.
