Lift the platen unit lever a and slide the platen unit to the left b unitil the
mark appears c.

Open the drum cartridge cover a and remove the plate b. (This will be used
in step 9.) Hold the handle of the drum cartridge and remove the drum
cartridge form the machine slowly c.
• There are some areas inside the machine which are subject to high voltages and high
temperatures. Take adequate precaution when performing internal inspections, to avoid
burns or electrical shock.
• Take care not to lose the plate as you need it whenever you replace the drum unit. You
cannot replace the drum unit without using the plate.
