Optional Equipment
Embers and EG Glass (Optional)
Do not allow the glass or rock material to block the air slots or to become too thick (maximum 1
layer deep on the burner). Failure to properly install the Rock Ember material may lead to
sooting and poor performance.
Make sure the gas control valve is OFF and the heater is cool prior to conducting service.
If using propane (LP), convert the appliance before installing the media
This appliance requires the use of a fireback kit. Install the Fireback BEFORE installing the
media.
Overview
This kit comes with ember glass (4lbs) and (2) sizes of ember material (1/2 lb. of small rocks and 4lbs of
large rocks).
Amount of Ember Rock Needed:
Ember-Glo Glass - 4 lbs. (approximately 4 cups).
Small Rock - 1/2 lbs. (approximately 1-1/4 cups).
Large Rock - 4 lbs. (approximately 11 cups).
Installation Notes
Discard rock at the bottom of the bag that has disintegrated (turned to small, sand-like material).
Put down the EG glass first. Cover the entire media tray with EG Glass (Do not cover the burner).
Put down the large rock next. Cover the EG glass with large rock.
NOTE: Do not place large rocks over any burner ports (This will cause sooting).
Place one layer of small Ember Rock over the burners.
Do not stack media in piles that may fall over or block airflow.
