Hold the reset gear by one finger while doing the
same to the spring.
Use your thumb to push the long arm of the spring up
and over the plastic extensions of the reset gear
(Figure 19-3).
Once the spring is over the plastic extensions, it will
fit within a ridge on the reset gear (Figure 19-4).
Continue to hold down on the reset gear at this time
as the tension has a chance of pushing the gear up
and off the post.
While holding the reset gear and placing pressure on
the top of the spring -- rotate the reset gear counter
clockwise so the spring falls into its final position
(Figure 19-5).
The smaller, plastic "arm" of the reset gear will now
be facing towards the 11 o'clock position.
Continue to hold these components in place so
they do not pop off.
Step 20: Re-apply the cartridge end cap
Use a hand/finger to hold down the spring and reset
gear while you retrieve the end cap (Figure 20-1).
Use a quick motion to re-apply the end cap onto its
original posts (Figure 20-2).
